Mindy Richmond – On The 8’s

Lots of nonsense with bits of accidental wisdom.

Lazy day September 10, 2006

Filed under: Nonsense — Mindy Richmond @ 6:38 pm

Sundays are so great for doing nothing at all. It’s something I excel at, so Sunday is a day for me to shine. For example, I am still in my pajamas, and I have no intention of changing my clothes. After all, I’m not going anywhere tonight, and in a few hours I’ll be back in bed for another night of sleeping. Mike just went to buy a new video game and he’ll be bringing me back some ice cream. I might take a shower. I might vacuum. Or I might just finish this blog and say that’s enough work for today.

Sounds like a wonderful day. Especially after going to a football game the night before where it was cold and slightly windy. I had fun with you at the game. So much more enjoyable that way.

I wish I could have a day like that, but Dave keeps me kind of busy on the weekends. Tomorrow, I have to work, but I have a slight cold (hopefully) and I am going to see how I can stay in bed and still work. It will be challenging, but I might be able to pull it off.

Yah, I finally have you on my bloglines:) I hadn’t changed your URL!

I too love Sundays, but I am not very good at making it a day of rest. God smiles down on us when we rest on Sunday, so you are in actuality doing God’s bidding when you rest all day Sunday. It truly is a gift!

I can totally relate to what you are saying. We have been having teaching at church about keeping the Sabbath. God has designed us to rest on the seventh and He modled it for us when He created everything. We need that day to rest and recharge to get us through the week. We celebrated the cool weather (which you know I don’t like) by having our first fire in the fireplace so it was nice and toasty. I have a Mary Englebreight page a day calendar and one day it said. “Oh how wonderful to do nothing and then to rest afterward”. I love it. So, go for it! Rest on sunday.

  4. What an excellent quote! I think that’s going on my tombstone when I die :)
